Reese Taylor tossed a complete-game to pick up the 5-1 win in game one, but the Southeastern bats were held in check in the nightcap as the Savage Storm fell to East Central 3-0 in game two on Tuesday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 14-13 overall and 8-3 in Great American conference play.

In the opener, Taylor scattered eight hits over seven innings of work to pick up the win, her fifth, but allowed just one run and struck out three.

Cheyenne Mahy and Bailey Beard each picked up a pair of hits, while Kamryn Rackley, Sabetha Sands, Iliana Olivares, Gracie Ore, and Marilyn Alvarado each added a hit.

Sands, Mahy, and Jady Fryrear each recorded an RBI as well.

ECU tok the lead in the top of the second with a solo homer, but Fryrear would draw a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to drive in Beard to tie the game at 1-1.

Mahy would put the Storm in front in the fifth with a solo homer down the left field line, her fourth of the season, taking a 2-1 lead.

In the sixth, Ore would score when Beard reached on an error, and Beard would ultimately come around to score on a single by Rackley.

Sands would cap the scoring with an RBI double that plated Rackley and set the final score at 5-1.

In the nightcap, Amberlyn Walsworth tossed a complete game and struck out five while allowing five hits, with three runs scored, two of them earned, while taking the loss.

Ore connected on a pair of hits including a double, while Rackley and Beard each added one.

The Tigers scored one run each in the first, third, and sixth innings to swipe the 3-0 final.
